Hyderabad: Telangana Power supply remains precarious and the two discoms are imposing rolling blackouts of up to eight hours with the cuts of the night to make up the shortfall of 800 MW in the power supply.

Against a demand of 6,200 MW in the state, only 5,400 MW of power available. Also 300 MW load shedding resorted to night in the state to deal with the shortage, while the GHMC areas are accounting for 250 MW of relief.

The situation can improve only slightly after the Kharif season when energy demand of the agricultural sector makes in the next 15 days, but could not lead to the reversal of the planned cuts.

The precarious energy situation in Telangana is likely to continue for 15-20 days at least. "We are providing 4,500 MW of power in the state, including relief from the anticipated load, against a demand of 6,200 MW. Relief load, excluding the industry is around 800 MW, including the charge was based during the day and night. emergency No cuts forced apart of relief, "said CMD of TSSPDCL, Raghuma G. Reddy.

Officials, meanwhile, are trying to buy energy from lateral sources to reduce the huge gap. From now cities and districts are giving relief cargo to the tune of 100 MW, 250 MW in addition to the industrial sector. The energy deficit has been hovering around 17 to 18 MU per day over the last week and hydel generation is about 9 MU for one day.

Currently, the areas within GHMC limits are catching up with four cuts per hour, the district headquarters are taking cuts five hours, six hours cuts peoples, mandal headquarters eight cuts per hour, while the industrial sector is in a day party power one day a week.
