Hyderabad: A printer was allegedly murdered by his financier for not paying interest on Mirchowk Chetta Bazar on Wednesday. The defendants and their associates attacked with knives in the press. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he died.
The deceased, Mohammed Javeed, 27, who runs a printing press and called Moin Bookbinders in Mirchowk is a resident of Yakuthpura. The defendant, Hassan Jabri, 37, owns Shaheen Printing in the same area.
Mirchowk Police said Hassan is also a financial. It is suspected that Mohammed Javeed had borrowed Rs 50,000 from the financial and promised to pay in installments.
Although he had paid dues before he recently did. He had not been paying for the past five months. Even after repeated requests it did not, police said Wednesday morning Hassan and his companions entered the shop and attacked Javeed.
"They stabbed him in the stomach, hands and other parts. The locals who viewed this came to his rescue and changed the Osmania General Hospital where he succumbed," said inspector Yadagiri V. Reddy.
Earlier, an attempt to murder case was registered and subsequently amended to murder after the death of Javeed. The police said they were investigating all angles including business rivalry as both machines work in the same area. Sources said the accused have been arrested. However, police are yet to be confirmed. The victim's body was sent for postmortem.
