Hyderabad: Chief Scientist at Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology based here, has been honored with the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FR), London, in recognition of his outstanding research.
Dr B Mahipal Reddy, the Chief and Chief of the Division of Inorganic Chemistry and Physical Science, has been selected for its more than two decades of research efforts in basic science and resulted in the development of new catalysts for the control of applied air pollution, bio-mass conversion into value-added products, synthesis of fine chemicals, production of solar fuels, and conversion of greenhouse gases into useful chemicals, said a statement CSIR-IICT Friday.
"Some of their contributions are already implemented in the chemical industry and some more are in various stages of exploitation," he said.
His outstanding contributions to research in the areas of nanomaterials and green chemistry have been well recognized worldwide and has received several national and international awards, "he said.
Dr Reddy has published 230 research papers in international journals of high impact, he wrote eight book chapters, completed ten research projects, in addition to being the inventor of eight patents and guiding 30 doctoral degrees, the Institute said.
For his outstanding contributions to the chemical sciences and technology, which has already met with grants from the National Academy of Engineering, India, the National Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences Andhra Pradesh, he said.
