Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who turned 64 on Wednesday, sought the blessings of the mother. 

Dressed in saffron kurta, Modi came to his mother's house this morning and touched his feet. 

The mother Hiraba PM Modi, 95, had been counting the days and hours to embrace his son on his birthday number 64 This is the first visit of Modi to his home state after he became the prime minister. 

Gujarati Sweet - churma ke Laddoo, Lapsi and Kansar - offered to the PM by his mother. She also donated 5,000 rupees Jammu and Kashmir flood victims. 

Meanwhile, the Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel in the microblogging website Twitter, greeted Hiraba for giving a nationalist Indian child. 

Hiraba, a quiet lady who is proud of her son, stays with his other son Pankaj Modi who is an employee of the department of state information in Gandhinagar. 

Tight security arrangements have been made at the home of Pankaj Modi and Special Protection Group has already checked around. 

The PM had earlier urged people not to be a birthday celebration, and instead should help those affected by floods in Jammu and Kashmir. 

The Prime Minister had also said that there are no programs on September 17 for the visiting president of China, Xi Jinping, who will be in Gujarat, but not for his birthday.
