New Delhi: Scientists and experts have warned that with capital riverfront Andhra Pradesh on both banks of river Krishna, without adequate geological and related scientific studies, could lead to a repeat of Srinagar, such as floods proposed capital.

Interestingly, the maps 1 in an event of 100-year flood and flood Krishna Areas', prepared by the Center for Remote Sensing Applications AP State reveal that several mandals as Tullur, Tadepalli, Amaravati in Guntur and Kanchikacharla hand, Vijayawada rural and Ibrahimpatnam mandals in Krishna side on the banks of river Krishna are marked blue, denoting flood prone. Indian Institute of Science Divecha Centre for Climate Change President Dr. J. Srinivasan said. "In recent years there is a recurring pattern of walking time with sudden heavy rains because water discharges in rivers are high The River you can change its course temporarily causing heavy flooding. Krishna River is no exception. So before you go for a capital riverfront, the government of AP should go for detailed geological studies of how Krishna river behaved in the past century ".

Scientists have warned that the government of AP to take the help of NGRI for these studies. NGRI scientist RK Chadha said, "the temporal change of river flow called meanders. Meteorological processes such as abnormal rainfall can lead to this."

However, the Disaster Management Plan AP latest available, says, "The Godavari and Krishna rivers have well-defined stable courses.
