New Delhi: Giving teeth to their public grievance redress system, Delhi Jal Board (DJB) on Monday launched a centralized call center 24/7 to deal with
consumer complaints.
This service will be available in English and Hindi and address customer inquiries related to water supply, sewerage problems, application of oil, water pollution, etc., according to a statement issued by the department.
Consumers can call for consultation in 1916 All registered complaints to the official concerned, who shall be required to take action within a stipulated deadline forward, he said.
"If the complaint is not resolved within the stipulated time for any reason, it will automatically be referred to a senior official in question," the statement said.
"It is hoped that this initiative will bring more transparency and accountability in the system. Moreover, improve efficiency and services DJB and help maintain a real-time tracking of all complaints," he added.
