The news of an Orissa MLA Srinath Soren assaulting a woman came to light very late. A woman from Udaar met him regarding employment, she paid 1 lakh to the MLA for the job. The lady was fed up when the MLA never showed her a job, she was always asked to come later whenever she enquired him about the job. The woman demanded back her money as she did not get the job.

The MLA said that he would return her money on the 3rd of January and asked her to come to a certain place. When the woman reached the place on 3rd January the MLA and his followers raped her. She went to the nearest police station and complained but they did not register her complaint, so she went to the court for justice.

The court ordered the police to arrest the MLA and his followers; the police have registered the case and are investigating the matter. The woman was taken to the hospital for tests. Srinath Soren says that this is all a game played by the opposition party.
