Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has accelerated hiring consultants to fill various field studies for the project proposed metro train in the city of Vijayawada.

DMRC is believed to have contracted the services of a couple of experts in different sectors, including surveying, traffic analysis, geographic studies and analyzes of water pipes. It plans to finalize the appointment of other consultants early to get the data ready by mid-January 2015.

Consultants are expected to be named to obtain clearances from different government agencies to implement the works. In order to refine the issues that have to be entrusted to consultants, managing director DMRC Mangu Singh and Director (Business Development) SD Sarma made a field visit to the city.

However, the entire visit was kept secret in an attempt to complete the field work smoothly. Sources said Mangu Singh visited all routes inspected by DMRC chief adviser E Sreedharan two months ago and noted the unions and key transit alignments.
