Avika Gor is now a household name in Andhra Pradesh after a successful debut in films with Uyyala Jampala. Avika was recognized for her portrayal of Anandi in the famous Hindi serial Baalika Vadhu which is dubbed into Telugu as Chinaari Pelli Koothuru.

The success of Avika Gor seems to have started a sort of trend now. Ankita Sharma, actress of the Television serial Amrit Manthan which is telecast on ‘Life Ok’channel has been roped in as the female lead for a Tollywood movie opposite Prince of Romance and Bunny N Cherry fame. The untitled venture is said to be a romantic entertainer and would be directed by Sri Chand. More details about the project are forthcoming which is expected to go on floors in February. While it remains to be seen whether the movie would meet with the same kind of success as Uyyala Jampala, selling gimmicks apart, one cannot discount the content factor which eventually determines the fate of the movie at the box-office.
