Expect Aamir Khan to come up with something new for your movies and considering that 'PK' is the latest major release of the year, the actor wants to ensure that 2014 ends with a bang with record box office collections for your movie. In between touring cities in India for promotions, Aamir Khan has decided that this time, rates of tickets for 'PK' will not be as expensive as his previous film.
In fact, together with distributors, the team made a collective decision not to hike the ticket prices for PK. Manufacturers have decided to keep prices affordable for the public tickets, so do not feel the effects in their pockets and also because more and more people have the opportunity to see the film this way.
'Dhoom 3' was the first Hindi film to release in IMAX. The ticket price of the last successful film Aamir Khan 'Dhoom 3' ranged between Rs 250-500 in multiplexes and theaters and in IMAX on individual screens ranging from 70-120 rupees and rose to Rs 250- 300. The rates for the action thriller were reportedly similar to that of 'Chennai Express'.
Theatre opened Owners advance booking for 'PK' on Monday itself and the shows are getting a good response already. The film will have between 3500 - 5000 screens in India and about 820 screens overseas.'Dhoom 3 'was released in approximately 4,500 screens in India and 800 abroad. This year, Salman Khan-starring 'Kick' was released in about 5,000 screens, while two other bigger movies - Shah Rukh Khan "Happy New Year" and Hrithik Roshan for 'Bang Bang' - hit more than 5,000 screens worldwide.
While Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan are working after 3 Idiots in 2009 to PK, Aamir Khan will pair with Anushka Sharma for the first time. PK is also starring Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani and Sushant Singh Rajput in prominent roles and release in theaters tomorrow (December 19).
