The writer and director history Superstar Rajinikanth underproduction today trilingual action thriller 'Linga' denied before the High Court of Madras accusation made by another director who had stolen his story for his film.
In separate to a request from first-time director K Ravirathinam, director 'Linga' KS Ravikumar and storyteller S Ponkumaran stated that the entire claim was based on a "weak thread" counters that the story of the film and the story of the petitioner "Mullai vanam 999 "is based on Mullaiperiyar dam issue.
When nothing except official teasers and trailers had been released, how could the petitioner concluded that the story of "Linga" was the same as their history, they asked.
Looking to dismiss the petition, said that the petitioner had not published his story anywhere to date.
He had submitted an incomplete report on its history in Youtube. And if it should rise would reveal that deals with the Mullaiperiyar dam and how people in six districts (in Tamil Nadu) states fighting for their rights over the dam located in Kerala.
It also contained a statement of some artists that history involved a love story between a boy and Kerala Tamil girl. Such incomplete report is not to tell a story.
"... The story of Linga had not been published anywhere.
Public, including the press, would keep guessing about the story. Although the story was by Ponkumaram, the game screen had done for him and several other original elements were added to it, "Ravikumar said.
The writer of history had recorded her story under the title "King Khan" on December 15, 2010 and the petitioner could not claim copyright in an unpublished work. Statements on Youtube not constitute publication of his story, they said.
Ravikumar said he had many successful films, including starring Rajinikanth 'Padayappa' and the case was submitted to ruin his reputation. It amounted to blackmail accused. Ponkumarman charged the petitioner was abusing the court process. "Although the director has taken its history, has given a new shape to it and that he can not say what would be the story of Linga without seeing the release version." The petitioner has approached the court saying he was directing a movie called "Mullai Vanam 999" produced by Ranga Post Solai films, based on the history of dam construction, reflecting Mullaiperiyar dam construction.
To say that the whole story was uploaded on Youtube February 24, 2013, which was broadcast on all TV channels Tamil leaders, the petitioner alleged that decided to make the film uploaded a movie that was also carried out a 'pooja' in studies of AVM on February 24, 2014.
The shooting of the film was scheduled from January 2015 and were conducted prior to making inspections. The film will premiere during the Tamil New Year.
