Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who led the successful campaign to eradicate polio in the country, has supported unit cleaning 'Banega SWACHH India'.
The 71-year-old actor, who has been named ambassador for the campaign, said he is proud to be associated with the cause and sanitation has been in his mind for quite some time.
"I feel very strongly about projects like saving the tiger, polio and tuberculosis. Quite some time sanitation has been in my mind and when I had this opportunity to be part of this campaign emerged," said Amitabh Bachchan, during the launch of the 'Banega SWACHH India' campaign.
The actor from 'Paa' said he learned the habit of cleaning his father, the late poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, who was very strict about it.
"In Allahabad my father was very strict and I remember once I played with earth and was messy so I scolded him and wondered to clean everything. He was very strict about this. Even now, if I'm responsible for anything dirty home I'm the one for cleaning without asking for help from any organization, "he said.
Bachchan also said he will work for this project until things change.
