Sumanth Ashwin was paired with Nanditha in his last outing Lovers, which hit the screens today (August 15). Maruthi filmmaker, who is known for his youthful love stories, wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues for the film. This is the reason why the film has created a lot of curiosity among movie buffs.
As its name suggests, Lovers is a romantic film with a high entertainment quotient. Performances lead actors are the main highlight of the film. Engaging screenplay and dialogues Maruthi is hilarious, Malhar Bhatt's cinematography Joshi, JB song background score, Saptagiri comedy and beautiful locales are other attractions of the film. The biggest drawback of this film is that it lacks an interesting story.
Maruthi has a thin story for lovers and he created intriguing scenario. As for the story, the film has nothing much to boast in the first half and the director runs the show with some punch lines and a few songs. In this section you can get bored with a dull story, but the second half Will Rock You. Thanks to the wonderful comedic timing Saptagiri.
Siddi (Sumanth Ashwin) is in love with Geetha (Tejaswi) during his school days. After the break up with her when she falls in love with another girl named Soumya (Shamil) and he breaks up with her, too. After entering engineering course falls in love again, but faced many difficulties with it. Later, she realizes that Chitra (Nanditha) is the cause of all his breakup. What happens next will form the focus of the story.
Sumanth Ashwin and Nanditha played a key pair and do justice to their roles. The chemistry between them is good. Tejaswi, Shamil and Chandini have little space for performance and they did their best. It Saptagiri that rocks all his comedy timing throughout the film. Sai, MS Narayana and others have done justice to their roles.
Lovers has decent production elements and Malhar Bhatt's cinematography Joshi is the main peak in the technical front. Selection is great. JB songs are very good at listening. His background score helps director Harinath elevate the intensity of some scenes. Maruthi punch dialogues are also one of the big attractions of the film. Other technical departments have done a good job.
